You just can’t go wrong with a good casino night out. You drink, you play, you have fun with your friends and maybe you win some money; but you’re sure to have a good time. There’s no need to go all the way to Vegas or Atlantic City, as Cardiff has three fantastic casinos to choose from for stag and hen parties, nights out or practice matches.

Gala Electric Casino
A well-known brand, this casino resides in the central Cardiff UGC Cinema Complex and is open twenty four hours, seven days a week. It boasts an impressive nine tables for American Roulette, 3 Card Poker, Blackjack as well as seventeen slot machines that pay out up to £4000. Their Club Lounge shows live Sky Sports and has electronic roulette games on screens, with an additional smoking area hooked up to Sky TV. This venue has hosted the World Series of Poker Tournament, slot tournaments, ladies nights and cash poker games, and you can even book your own private poker table to practice with friends.

Grosvenor G
A little further out of town in Cardiff Bay, the Red Dragon Centre is home to the Grosvenor G Casino, one of the best card rooms in Wales. The Poker room is open seven days a week with cash games running every day, and they also hold Poker Leagues with £2500 prizes in the final. In addition to the casino, the Grosvenor G has a restaurant, bar, conference rooms and a sports and entertainment lounge with live entertainment, with birthdays and learn-to-play nights held on request. It is also the only casino in Cardiff to operate with Playpoints, loyalty points which are earned whenever you play, or eat or drink in the casino and can be exchanged for gift shop items, cash to play or food and drink.

Les Croupiers
Locally known as “The Croups”, this establishment has recently moved from the location it was set up in over forty years ago and now claims to have one of the largest Poker rooms in the UK with twenty tables catering up to two hundred people. They provide a huge amount of games including Rapid Roulette, Punto Banco, Three Card Poker (BRAG) and even Mahjong! If you become addicted to any unusual games at The Croups, you can try to find them later on a site like Lucky Nugget, or get your friends involved to play together. New customers can learn to play from helpful staff and all players are given complimentary refreshments like coffee, tea and snacks, and unlike other casinos the dress-code is smart casual; jeans are okay, dirty clothes and sportswear are not.

While Cardiff may not abound in casinos, the three it has are respected casinos all with their own benefits; whether that’s loyalty points, convenient locations or a variety of games to try out. A night out in one of Cardiff’s casinos is sure to be a night to remember.
