Happy Now?
St David’s Hall
Tuesday 12 April, 8pm
FANCY featuring in the new DVD of one the UK’s finest comedians?
Well, now you can as the Cardiff date of Richard Herring’s Happy Now tour will be filmed in front of a live audience at St David’s Hall on Tuesday 12 April!
It’s not the first time that Richard has chosen the Welsh capital as one of his favourite locations either. In 2009, he hosted his live DVD for the Hitler Moustache tour at Chapter Arts Centre, and he returned to the same venue to preview his 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival show.
And following the success of last year’s Lord of the Dance Settee tour, Richard is coming back to the National Concert Hall of Wales.
For his 12th stand-up show, Richard finds himself contemplating the contentment of his middle-aged lifestyle. After years of drifting aimlessly and alone, he’s now settled down with a wife and a tiny baby. Is he finally happy now? Or does responsibility for the lives of others come with its own terrors?
The Yorkshire satirist has become renowned for his observational wit and deadpan delivery whilst observing the mundanities, nuances and eccentricities of modern life over the last two decades.
Richard first sprang to fame in the 1990s as one half of a double act with fellow comedian Stewart Lee on BBC2’s Fist of Fun and This Morning with Richard, Not Judy. He also wrote Sky TV’s sitcom Time Gentleman Please starring Al Murray, and has performed in nearly 40 self-written shows at the Edinburgh Festival over the last 30 years.
Since then Herring has written several plays and best-selling books, become the ‘King of Podcasts’ and now pens a weekly column for the Metro.
Don’t miss this special one-off chance to be there for the recording of Richard Herring’s new DVD live at St David’s Hall!
