Oct-O-Bar Fest 2010 is just around the corner!
Pontypridd’s biggest annual beer festival kicks off on Thursday 28 October, for a glorious long weekend of great beer, great food and great entertainment.
Oct-O-Bar Fest is the brainchild of the Otley family, who have run pubs in the Pontypridd area for almost 40 years, and whose empire now includes an award-winning brewery and three terrific pubs – the Otley, the Rickards Arms, and renowned gastropub the Bunch of Grapes.
There’s a packed programme of entertainment at each of the three pubs, which are within of a ten-minute walk of each other. Or if that sounds like too much effort, a minibus runs regularly between pubs, so you don’t have to miss a thing.
Nick Otley says, “Over the years, Oct-O-Bar Fest has become a real celebration of the great community we’ve got here. It’s about bringing families and communities together to let their hair down in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
“We really believe that the best of Welsh pub culture is about so much more than just beer. We’ve got live music, poets, comedians, dancing, film screenings, great food.
“Oh, and it’s easier to get to than Munich…”
