World of Words (the non profit RCT Kids literacy and well being programme) welcomes Chris Coleman and Kit Symons on this Thursday – hopefully if there are no last ditch cancellations. Chris and Kit will visit Williamstown Primary, Ton Pentre Juniors and Parc Primary on July 13.

The two stars played for their country together – and they have also represented Crystal Palace in the Premiership as slawart centre-halves. The pair have also both managed Fulham and they have been involved in the Wales management set up. The guys are friends and Kit left the Wales set up to manage Fulham – and was a Wales scout during the Euros – after he had the sack at Fulham. He is now back as a coach with Wales. He is an important figure in Coleman’s team and is an Englishman who originally came in to the Welsh set up as his dad was from Cardiff. However, Symons has served the Welsh nation with dignity.

Coleman was given a 2017 OBE and was born in Swansea to an Irish father and he could have also played for the Republic of Ireland or the USA – via his maternal grandmother. Coleman has also managed in other countries such as Spain and Cyprus and he took over from the late, great Gary Speed as Wales boss – and he was also a great personal friend of his predecessor. The Wales success under Coleman at the Euros was the greatest soccer story in the history of Welsh football folklore.
