UK HEADLINE TOUR STARTS NEXT MONTH

NEW ALBUM ‘PREHISTORIC RHYTHM’ OUT NOW

Tirelessly inventive psychedelic Dutch trio MY BABY are back! With ‘Sunflower Sutra’ the third single from the new album ‘Prehistoric Rhythm’ (Sept 2017).
Sunflower Sutra is out September 15 via Glitterhouse Records accompanied by a stunning video, resplendent with the band’s deep rooted earthy inspiration, beautifully illuminated by rising director Ayla Spaans.
MY BABY’s distinctive tribal influences and deep symbolism permeate 3rd album ‘Prehistoric Rhythm’, with their trademark hypnotic drums, shimmering soulful vocals, and psychedelic riffs riding on the back of rootsy Blues and dubbed-out Funk.
‘Sunflower Sutra’ is no exception, telling a story of primal awareness in three parts – Birth, Ceremony, Rebirth
Frontwoman Cato van Dyck is represented as an important and holy character who connects the Real and Spirit worlds. In her own words – “This is the story of an ancient city’s Queen blessing her people. Moroccan Gnawa trance meets a dance-themed Andean Hymn, instilling the city’s dwellers with belief in the power of the Sun”.
The immersive nature of their mesmerizing live shows continues to earn the band feverish acclaim, whilst tracks from the album ‘Prehistoric Rhythm’ rack up more and more national airplay across 6 Music, BBC Radio 2, Beats 1 and over 60 regional stations.
After a busy Summer playing a significant slice of the UK’s festival circuit (Isle of Wight, Wilderness, Glastonbury, Shambala, OnBlackheath, Bestival), MY BABY will also headline a UK tour.
