The Photomarathon is traditionally a 12 hour Photography event where attendees are expected to capture 12 given topic matters within the time limit. Events have been replicated through out the U.K. and globally, with one hosted in Cardiff successfully for many years.
The RCT Photomarathon was set up by Photography enthusiast Father and Daughter Duo who took part in 3 previous Cardiff Photomarathons. It is set to go ahead on the 18th of April. The event spans across the entirety of the RCT, and you don’t need to be a resident of the area to take part. As this event is on such a large scale, the RCT Photomarathon rules are slightly different.
12 topics, 12 images but an extended 24 hours. All images must be taking digitally either with cameras or phones, there will be access to easy to use upload platforms where all photos will be submitted. The RCT Photomarathon has already gained sponsorship from The Royal Photographic Society (South Wales Region) and Penderyn Whiskey Distillery.
The awards night date is yet to be announced, but there will be a physical display of all the images from the event. Furthermore the winners will be awarded with prizes – which are soon to be announced on social media.

It is looking to be a very exciting time for creatives in South Wales, and the team personally can’t wait to see the outcome of the images submitted.
