Shopping are propulsive bass lines, primitive disco-not-disco drums and guitar lines that are sharp as broken glass. The band was formed in 2012 by Rachel Aggs (guitar), Billy Easter (bass) and Andrew Milk (drums). This personnel wed from UK DIY bands such as Trash Kit and Wet Dog.

Shopping drink from a well of original post-punk and their sound unites the jagged aggression of Gang of Four, the voracious yelp of The Slits and the dance inducing thrust of Delta 5 and ESG. Other bands from that era which also spring to mind are The Mo-dettes, Au Pairs and The Raincoats amongst others.

These off kilter bonds spark memories of teenage years as the decades crossed from the 70’s to 80’s. At this time late at night on a week day ears would be pressed against the transistor awaiting the latest offerings from the BBC desk of John Peel. Shopping revive this pristine period of pop panache.

Shopping carry yesteryear Peel sessions in to 2016 and their second album Why Choose (on Fat Cat Records) continues the assault of their acclaimed Consumer Complaints debut! Get Shoppping for Shopping and make the festive season a happy holiday for the recipient of this fine fare!
