On a personal note and grading, great gigs attended over the years – The Skids at the long-lost Top Rank, Cardiff on 4 November 1979 is yet to be surpassed. That electric experience was run a close second by the same band at The Tramshed in the capital city of Wales on June 9, 2018. Therefore, it is a delight to hear that this fine band are on their way to Sin City, Swansea for a show on Friday, February 15, 2019, 7.30pm.

The current Skids line up of Brothers, Bruce and Jamie Watson (of Big Country fame) offer six-string skills to accompany original personnel: Richard Jobson (vocals) and William Simpson (bass) plus another former 80’s member Mike Baillie (drums). The live set will be alive with vibrant material from the brilliant Burning Cities album and old classics such as The Saints are Coming, Into the Valley, Charade, Masquerade, Animation, Working for the Yankee Dollar and Circus Games will be to the fore. With the enigmatic presence of Jobson leading proceedings these boys cannot fail.
