Now, over twenty years after it topped the US singles chart, ‘This Is How We Do It’ remains the ultimate summer jam, with its laid-back groove and timeless vocals. Back then it won a Grammy and today, it still sounds as fresh and fun as ever. The track has been the starting point for this collection of classic R&B cuts from some of the biggest stars in the world, including Bobby Brown ‘Every Little Step’, Heavy D & The Boyz ‘Now That We’ve Found Love’, En Vogue ‘My Lovin’, Mary J Blige ‘Real Love’ [Hip-Hop Mix], Beverley Knight ‘Flavour of The Old School’, Blackstreet ‘Booti Call’ and Salt-N-Pepa ft. En Vogue ‘Whatta Man’.
Some ground-breaking Brits are also featured including Mark Morrison’s global hit ‘Return of The Mack’ (the song recently re-entered the Top 20 following Nevada’s remix of the song. 200m+ streams and counting!). Soul II Soul also conquered the R&B scene both sides of the pond. ‘Keep on Movin’ hit No.1 on the US Billboard R&B chart in 1989 and in a BBC Radio poll in 2008, it was voted one of the Greatest Ever Dance Records.
